Ramatoulaye Barry
Ramatoulaye Barry is a compassionate community advocate and aspiring healthcare professional dedicated to supporting migrants, strengthening communities, and advancing women’s empowerment.
Since arriving in New York in December 2023, she has played an active role in community organizing and volunteer efforts through Wanllan Mi Wanlle, a mutual aid network supporting newly arrived migrants. Through her work with WMW, she has helped individuals and families navigate the challenges of settling into a new environment by providing guidance, emotional support, and assistance accessing essential resources and services. Her work reflects a strong commitment to community building, solidarity, and helping people regain stability and dignity during difficult transitions.
Ramatoulaye also completed a healthcare training program where she gained hands-on experience in patient care and developed practical skills in assisting with daily living activities, companionship, and compassionate support for individuals in need. Her direct experience caring for patients has strengthened her ability to be attentive, patient, empathetic, and dependable. She takes pride in helping people feel safe, respected, and cared for.
Driven by both personal and professional growth, Ramatoulaye is committed to continuing her studies in the healthcare field and building a meaningful career centered on service and care.
She is also deeply passionate about women’s empowerment, particularly through community engagement, mentorship, economic independence, and social support networks that help women build confidence, stability, and leadership within their communities.
