Saoudatou Diallo

Saoudatou Diallo is a dedicated community volunteer, aspiring healthcare professional, and passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and migrant inclusion. Her journey with Wanllan Mi Wanlle (WMW) began not as a volunteer, but as a newly arrived immigrant seeking support and guidance while adjusting to life in New York City. Inspired by the compassion and solidarity she experienced through the mutual aid network, she quickly became determined to give back and help others facing similar challenges.

Since then, Saoudatou has become a trusted and active presence within the WMW community, consistently volunteering her time to support newly arrived migrants and families. She plays an important role during community gatherings, outreach events, cultural celebrations, and support sessions, where she is known for her warmth, leadership, and ability to make people feel welcomed and included. Whether helping organize events, assisting families with navigating services, supporting outreach efforts, or simply creating a welcoming environment for newcomers, Saoudatou approaches every interaction with empathy and care.

Her involvement during social and community events has made her especially impactful among young migrants and women, many of whom see in her someone who understands their struggles firsthand. She is deeply committed to helping young African migrant girls build confidence, adapt to a new society, pursue education, and recognize their own potential despite the obstacles they may face. Through mentorship, encouragement, and community engagement, she hopes to contribute to stronger pathways for social mobility, independence, and leadership among young immigrant women.

In addition to her community work, Saoudatou completed a healthcare training program where she gained hands-on experience in patient care and developed practical skills assisting individuals with daily living activities, and emotional support. Her healthcare experience strengthened her natural qualities of patience, attentiveness, and compassion, while reinforcing her desire to build a career centered on helping others.

Saoudatou is currently pursuing her education in the United States with the goal of becoming a nurse. She is driven by a strong sense of purpose and believes deeply in the power of service, mutual aid, and community care. Through both healthcare and grassroots organizing, she hopes to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of others while uplifting the communities she serves.
